When we think of old movie stars of film noir, we're not thinking of the happy-go-lucky, wholesome guys and dolls of mainstream A-pics.



No, these film noir women and film noir men of the silver screen were tough talkin' mugs and dames who rarely smiled, unless it was a sardonic laugh. More often, their expressions were of either desperation, cool cunning, or laid back cynicism born of dashed hopes.

Some of these classic film noir stars of the 1940's or 1950's are considered B-list movie stars, but we love 'em just the same, if not more. Perhaps the films they appeared in were considered B movies or low budget pictures. Or maybe the actor or actress merely had a supporting role.
