Dana Andrews
With big, dark soulful eyes and a gentle voice, Andrews displays a certain type of masculinity common to many noir protagonists. His best event seems to be his depiction of moral ambiguity. Master directors Otto Preminger and Fritz Lang each directed him in more than one picture. Though he played in other genres as well, Andrews' film noir roles include: Laura (1944) He plays Mark McPherson, a lovesick cop who falls in love with the victim of the murder he is investigating. "Where the Sidewalk Ends" on DVD Beyond a Reasonable Doubt (1956) He's Tom Garrett, a novelist. After seeing this one, you'll have trouble being on a jury ever again. While The City Sleeps
(1956) He plays Edward Mobley, a reporter. "While the City Sleeps " on VHS Alcoholism plagued his career in the 50's, but he sobered up and became a spokesperson for the National Council on Alcoholism.
